Federal Press Office chooses MetaDesign
The press and information office of the federal government of Germany (BPA) has selected MetaDesign, Germany’s leading agency for corporate identity, to handle its communication. Effective immediately the Berlin branding experts will replace Media Consulta, the former account holders, and will support the federal agency in developing communication strategies, planning and designing communication campaigns, and maintaining and developing the federal government’s corporate design.
A formal invitation to tender was issued across Europe, and the communication strategy and fictitious work samples MetaDesign developed won the selection committee’s favor. The basis for the design of the communication measures was the state of the nation address delivered by the German chancellor on 10 November 2009. The formal collaboration began on 1 April 2010.
MetaDesign and the German federal government are no strangers to each other. Since 1996, the Berlin agency has been guiding the development and implementation process of the federal government’s corporate design.
Professor Uli Mayer-Johanssen, managing director and chief design officer at MetaDesign, is delighted at the partnership: “In times of increasingly complex political situations, the challenge lies in communicating the key issues of government policy to as broad an audience as possible while making political processes transparent. Reaching people through communication requires a holistic approach, which makes the decision for us as corporate identity and branding specialists only logical.”
